Abstract

Sustainable urban designs – a realistic resource base The object of this paper is to generate design approaches that respect a realistic mix of foreign and local resources for sustainable urban design and construction in high-density Asian cities. In order to evaluate this goal at the level of projects, this paper argues that urban designers have to consider within an interdisciplinary frame, technological choices, their environmental implications as well as the foreign resource content of projects.
